Where is the love?

When I look around
I see people
Lots of people

People talking about people
People attacking people
People hating people

Why is that so, I wonder?
Why do we hate so?
Why do we talk so?

Why can't we live together?
Why is it so hard to stay together?
Why can't we show more love?

In this world
Where we have more
Where we get more
Where we receive more

Yet we don't appreciate
We are not grateful
We are not giving
We don't feel happy

Where is the joy?
Where is the laughter?
Where is the care?
Where is the love?

Just a random post....

Wow...

It's been a long time since I last posted.

Decided to just type a random post....An update on my life I guess. Not that a lot of people are reading and those who matter knows more or less what's going on in my life...

It's another year of ups and downs. Wanted to change route in my work life...but am glad that I realised what I really want, more money or pursue your passion?

I know, a lot of people do not have the luxury of pursuing their passion in work life and love their work. I feel under accomplished when compared to many of my friends who have much more earning power than I am. AND it doesn't help that I love shopping. Plus, I thought I had enough of teaching. So, I thought it would be a good idea to help my mom in her business or go sell property. I know, I know, it's BORING! At least to me it is, looking at houses and measurements and square feet and doing sales and everyday making sure you hit the sales target(that's for helping my mom too)....BLEHHH.

So I tried to get a licence to be an agent. It's interesting looking at different kinds of houses and the design and knowing some things about owning a property, but it gets boring when you go in depth cos there are policies and measurements and those very technical things like observing property market and stuff. BORING. ZZZzzzz.

And don't forget the fact that you will have no income for awhile. Zzzzz. Anyway, I hate it when I give things up halfway. But I also dreaded being a property agent.

To cut long story short, I am glad I have supportive loved ones around me who want the best for me. One friend helped me realised I am still the happiest when I am with children. Another told me it is important to work for something you like rather than just for money, as she calculated the number of hours that I needed to spend at work and if I dreaded it, I would be spending a lot of my time in misery. Which I did. The best thing is, of course, Dear's support. It is important, to have your life partner wanting the same goals as you.

I am glad his goal is not to just earn more money blindly. Of course everyone likes to earn more money, but some people are just money-driven. As long as they can earn more, any job goes. But Dear told me I shouldn't just work for the sake of more money. That I should pursue my interest, since there is an opportunity that presented itself and at least paying a median income, and also career advancement....I am just happy that he is supportive and not tell me stuff like, "Oh, you should be more driven and do the job that pays more. After all, you can't always do what you like."

Anyway, I am generally quite happy. There are so many things to learn and definitely not stagnant. I thought I don't want to teach anymore cos I am so sick of doing the same thing everyday. I am finally learning from a top notch school and I realise there are so many things I still need to learn in order to call myself an Early Childhood Educator. There are days I do feel like quitting but I am glad I have supportive superiors who are concerned about my professional growth.

Enough of my work life....About personal life...I realised a lot of my loved ones are getting married this year. It's like quite a few. I am happy for them. But I worried about my own too. I mean, I am a worrier, and what if I have a bad marriage just like my parents? Recently I happen to like a song that I feel it is meaningful and I want to play it at my wedding! It's Pink's "Just give me a reason" featuring Nate Ruess. The lyrics goes like this:

Right from the startYou were a thiefYou stole my heartAnd I was your willing victimI let you see the parts of meThat weren't all that prettyAnd with every touch you fixed them
Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, ohThings you never say to me, oh, ohTell me that you've had enoughOf our love, our love
Just give me a reasonJust a little bit's enoughJust a second we're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love againIt's in the starsIt's been written in the scars on our heartsWe're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love again
I'm sorry I don't understandWhere all of this is coming fromI thought that we were fine(Oh, we had everything)Your head is running wild againMy dear we still have everythin'And it's all in your mind(Yeah, but this is happenin')
You've been havin' real bad dreams, oh, ohYou used to lie so close to me, oh, ohThere's nothing more than empty sheetsBetween our love, our loveOh, our love, our love
Just give me a reasonJust a little bit's enoughJust a second we're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love againI never stoppedYou're still written in the scars on my heartYou're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love again
Oh, tear ducts and rustI'll fix it for usWe're collecting dustBut our love's enoughYou're holding it inYou're pouring a drinkNo nothing is as bad as it seemsWe'll come clean
Just give me a reasonJust a little bit's enoughJust a second we're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love againIt's in the starsIt's been written in the scars on our heartsThat we're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love again
Just give me a reasonJust a little bit's enoughJust a second we're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love againIt's in the starsIt's been written in the scars on our heartsThat we're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love again
Oh, we can learn to love againOh, we can learn to love againOh, oh, that we're not broken just bentAnd we can learn to love again

So much like my love life:) I am sure everyone of us has been through this at some point of your love life relationship. I am learning to love everyday:)

10 ways to know you are getting old...

How do you know you are getting old? This guide is made for those who claim that they are young but know that they are getting on age.

Below are top 10 signs that tell you that you are truly indeed getting old!!

1) Forgetfulness. You start scratching your head and wondering what you have forgotten-- or rather perhaps you forgot what you forgot! Hmmm... (Come to think of it I'm very sure I'm forgetting something important at this very moment.... Just not sure what it is!)

2) Repetition. You keep repeating yourself and not remembering that you have already said it! The classic "huh?? Did I mention it already??"

3) Obsession. You are obsessed with hair fall, hair loss, wrinkles etc etc..You know you are getting old when you start counting your strands of hair that has fallen on the floor or the lines on your face..( oh wait.. There is some hair on the floor! Give me a moment! 1, 2, 3......97, 98???!!! That's fucking a lot!!! Dammit!!!)

4) Digression. You easily digress from the topic of your conversation. The best part of it is, you never get back to your point, not unless someone points it out to you. Oh look!! My baobei Angel just did that trick again! Ain't she cute?? Awwwww.... Did I tell you guys she's the cutest dog ever? Don't believe me? I show you!

Oops!! Unglam photo! Not this one! But cute right?? Ok ok I show you another one!

See?? Puss in boots eyes!!!
Oh wait... I was told I digressed...bad habit I developed recently... What was I talking about? Oh yeah! Digression as a sign of ageing:)

5) Distraction. No no, not that you are the object of distraction, but that you get easily distracted... Any little thing can distract you and make you forget... Oh!! Angel just did that trick again!!! Did you see that?!! Oh oh.. Sorry where was I again?

6) Forever 18. Yeah, when you start telling people you are 18 and continue that for the next 10 or more years.

7) Tiredness. Yeah you get easily tired, body aches, headaches, tummy aches or whatever aches after 1 or 2 hours of partying. You start falling asleep at 2 am instead of 8am after party. (what party? I'm getting too old for this!)

8) Home~li~ness: weekend? Stay at home. Weekdays? Stay at home after work. Holidays? Too tired, also stay at home. Home sweet home. Safe and warmth. If you have these thoughts, dude, you are getting old!

9) Have thin skin. By that I am not saying that younger people are thick skinned( actually there maybe some truth to that) I'm talking about dryness of skin cos it's thinner as you age. Yeah no kidding ok! Many people take this for granted but do you know how important this is? That's where wrinkles form! And also the fact that you have to start spending more money on moisturising cream for hand, feet etc...

10) oh... I forgot what the 10th one is supposed to be...hmm....hmmmm *GASPS* I'm getting old!! No I'm not! No no no... That's not true! I am still young ok? I'm forever young!

Oh, 10th one is denial:(((((

Happy mid autumn!

Well, I haven't celebrated mid autumn in years!

I remember I used to love this festival, from the time that I know about this festival, which I always call it the lantern festival, to the time I am old enough to feel that carrying a lantern is uncool, to no special feelings towards this festival as I am busy with school/work/can't be bothered anyways.

I used to love it when I was young! (feeling damn old now). I called it the lantern festival cos that's the whole point of mid autumn festival. No lantern=no fun.

I remembered the colourful cheap paper ones as well as the hip musical battery operated ones. From the paper ones, which I got to hold a while when I was young(cheap but so called dangerous fire hazard) to my favourite cartoon ones. There were also those transparent coloured paper ones! I wonder if it still exists... Ahh.. The nostalgia..

Anyways, I remembered going to Chinese garden, which is damn near my house, to see those colourful lanterns and decorations! Ahhh... Nostalgia again...

So today, earlier on, me and my friend wanted to visit Chinese garden to re live the memories again. Yes, as you grow older, you find yourself more nostalgic than ever... Remember those days when you...

Oops, I digress. Maybe I should blog about you know you are getting old when you...

Ahh.. Digress again. Anyway, my point is, I didn't know Chinese garden has an entry fee!

I must be so blissful as a kid. Everything is paid for me so much so I don't even remember there was a fee, either that or I remembered it was quite cheap... You see you know you are old when.....

Ok I digress again. But what I want to rant about is this. How can a bloody entrance fee for Chinese garden to see decorations and lights and some fireworks cost us 12 bucks for adults!???!! Even children were not let off! 8 bucks per child!!!

It's like the management of Chinese garden saying "oh since nobody visits Chinese garden at other times of the year so let's make use of this opportunity to charge sky high fee so as to cover our expenses for the whole year".

I thought it's owned by government or something?!! So expenses paid by government right? Then is our gar men so poor!!

I have evidence ok!

Did you see that??? I'm not kidding ok?

In the end being the cheapo that I am, I didn't go in. There goes my nostalgic experience. We were not the only cheapos ok? There were a lot of poor families who just had their lanterns and did their own mini mid autumn celebration with candles and all just before the entrance as if to protest--- WHY SO EXPENSIVE? WE CAN STILL CELEBRATE AND SEE YOUR BEAUTIFUL LIGHTS AND DECORATIONS FROM OPPOSITE. (for your info, there is this mini river between the entrance to chinese garden, so a mini bridge is the only way to go in from entrance).

Anyways, we saw lots of families wondering if they should go in..

Oh well. At least the moon is beautiful. Proof that I went and seen the full moon. That's the point too right? Full moon? Think everyone is more obsessed about the chinese garden than to see the moon.

Updates!!

[Recent events...]

It's been some time since I last updated....

But I am living a good life:) Life has been good....

Even though I have to say goodbyes to my best friend (I miss her but I am happy for her!!) cos' she is in Australia now, and my K2 kids cos' they graduated:(

It was a grand and great graduation, all my kids performed so well, I was swelling with pride! Dear came to help me, and he is quite good with kids I must say(Thanks dear!) :)

We applied for BTO flat....and got it on our FIRST TRY!!

Didn't really think we'll get it cos' everyone said it's not easy...our friends try and so far, I have friends who haven't get it after trying 4 times, some 6 times...

I wasn't desperate for one right now... just applied cos' my dear Eileen-jie said it's difficult to get it...

And voi˜la! Got it! No need to waste another $10! Queue no 175 (maybe I should get 4D) Thank God!

It's in Bukit Panjang (going to be Eileen-jie's neighbour!!), which is the nearest we can have to our parents' home in Jurong, next to Taman Jurong or Jurong West Extension or Queenstown?

Oh well. As long as there's a flat and I am not into BIG houses, so it's good:)

I am going to start my Master soon....so I am in need of cash... Need to work hard in the plans that me and dear have!

Generally, life's good. It's my December holidays now, and we went to Batam! Not many photos cos' actually the environment there is quite bad....the air mainly. But it was still a fun trip! So I will post some photos up in the next entry!

School's starting in two weeks' time. Oh! and my pay rise! HEEEE:)

I love my new laptop!!!!

[ Quick updates ]

Firstly, for all those who are concerned, thank you. MOE was good to me, that's all I will say. It went well, so well that's it's unbelievable. Must be cos of all the blessings I am getting.

Secondly, I am applying for my masters soon!! And that means NEW LAPTOP!!!

Super happy with my new laptop:) I bought my first Apple laptop, third Apple product. Macbook pro.

For those of you who know me, I used to hate Apple products. I felt that they are so user-unfriendly.

Then when all the ipod hype came, I got my ipod classic, which double confirmed my hatred for Apple cos well, I don't like ipod classic, cos it's so troublesome when your own personal itunes is down and you need to re-download, your old songs will be gone. I wrote something about this in one of my entry last time. Actually if you ask me I still don't like ipod and itunes.

But iPhone came along and made my impression of Apple changed drastically. It was so easy to use, and surfing net is such a breeze and all the apps and games, I simply fell in love...

Yeah I know, I am weak and easily influenced into the mainstream popular culture. But who cares?? It's really good and easy to use! Just like Macbook!

I don't need to download anti-virus cos trojan is very much not available in Mac! Thats the thing I love most! No more lagggggy screen cos of trojan.

The downside is mac can't play many games that are supported by microsoft, but who cares??? I don't play much pc games nowadays. I don't even play on com at all, I either play with my psp or iphone....Oh, and of course windows are not pre-installed.

But nice Mel says she has iworks. So it's solved cos i only need microsoft word or ppt.

Anyway my macbook pro is super pretty...even though it's not the white macbook but I value specs more.

Yay! Thanks to Mel cos she is the one who made me decide to buy Mac in the end, I was contemplating between Fujitsu(which is good) and Mac. And I can't decide cos' I know they are both good(for mac it's after much research and feedback cos I use Fujitsu I know it's good cos I use 6 years and it's still moving)

But Mel had both Fujitsu and Mac and said once she had her Mac she never looked back, and I totally agree with her.

Love it.

P/S: Sorry for the raving...I am so happy and I just love it!
